Celebrity Reading on John Mayer: Reflecting on his Saturn Return , Pluto Square Pluto, & Other Things

In this video, John Mayer mentions achieving his goals, having to go back home to regroup, stardom, doing some immature interviews, and accepting the lessons and wisdom of Saturn, and accepting the undeniable force of Pluto forcing CHANGE.

Regarding the Rolling Stones interview, he says:
“It was sort of like rocking me into adult. It was a violent crash into being an adult. So for a couple of years it was like figuring it all out.” Sounds Plutonian to me. Actually the Pluto Square Pluto personal transit we go through around the ages of 33-35.

In his own words, he lets us know how he had refused to grow up, Saturn style and why he left the spotlight for two years.

“Go away. Be 33 and 34 instead of 28 for the fourth year.”

“Why not be happy after awhile. You get to a certain age where you prepare yourself for happiness, sometimes you never remember to get happy. So I remembered to get happy.”

As a Libra, he’s quite eloquent even if he says ‘off’ things now and then because he loves to tell the truth — publicly.

I find men who are 34 / 35 get a second wind if they were sleep walking through their Saturn Return or refused to grow up.

Unrelated: John has one of the most popular vocalist’s signature: Sun Conjunct Mercury and while we don’t have his time of birth, it’s probably in the 10th (if he has an interception) or 11th house which would make him a Sagittarius rising and that makes sense to me given his history with women (and his need to publicly SPILL — upside down bowl aspect pattern). I mean, Moon Conjunct Neptune in the 1st would account for why the women he dated felt so fooled.

About Pluto Square Pluto

Transiting Pluto squaring its natal position (Pluto square Pluto) brings on a process of deep psychological change and transformation. Pluto rules the shadow side of us and when it squares itself by transit it brings out whatever is seething in us underneath the surface. In many ways the Pluto square represents a purification process where we can eliminate emotional and psychological toxins held in the body…

I’ve found that for many of my clients the Pluto square is also a time when they are being challenged to purify their motives and the way they express their personal power. This is especially true for those who have Pluto conjunct (within a few degrees) one of their personal planets. For instance, if Sun and Pluto are conjunct in your chart (John Mayer has this!), the Pluto square will also be squaring your Sun. This can be experienced as a real breakdown of your sense of identity (the Sun) and may feel like a part of your self is dying. The Pluto square will also challenge you to more fully “own” your personal power rather than using it in a more manipulative, covert way. By tuning into the purification process of the Pluto square you can begin to experience your power with more integrity.

James Jarvis, M.A.

Saturn demands that you grow up and it looks like Pluto helped Saturn make that happen for John.

Art & Man, Pablo Picasso: An Astrology Celebrity Reading

Recently I visited the opening weekend (for members only) at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), of the Pablo Picasso exhibit.

I didn’t set out to pepper my post with Pablo Picasso quotes but somehow they’ve weaved their way into it.  During the exhibit I wrote some notes (see below) and one word I used was narcissist. If he was narcissistic, I’ve certainly played into it here.

At any rate, I was stunned at the breadth of mediums in which Pablo worked upon.  Canvas, wood, steel, bronze, photography — it was as if he worked on anything he could get his hands on — as if everything was for him to play with, create upon, mold, mix, and tamper with. He was prolific and relentless — two traits for sure success!

Before this exhibition, I had limited thoughts about Pablo Picasso. I was familiar with his Cubism but I wasn’t prepared for what else I saw.  You too may have your thoughts challenged after seeing this huge body of work.

The exhibit took me about 1.5 hours to traverse.

With Taurus Neptune, Pluto, and Jupiter in his 10th, Venus Sextile Ascendant, and Pisces on the 9th — clearly he was well suited to the sensual body arts — including painting, and working with one’s hands. And having Chiron in there says to me that he used his art as a way to heal the inner demons of his Sun and Mercury in the 4th.

For those who know how to read, I have painted my autobiography. (Pablo Picasso)

It appears that he couldn’t speak about the depths of pain he witnessed, while growing up and that shows up strongly in his Mercury aspects.

Having Aquarius on the 7th caused a love/hate relationship in his relationships.  He loved his freedom but also wanted to control his women.  Leo risings can appear innocent and playful until they feel out of control. This control also shows up in Venus Trine Pluto amd Moon Opposite Pluto.  But these placements also suggest he had willing victims or rather Plutonian women attracted to his own powerful, restrictive, manipulative, and forceful nature!

He also had Jupiter Conjunct Algol! Off with her head and would have been seen for how busted the self-esteem of the women in his life.

His Taurus stellium  gave him a tenacity to succeed in the art world.  He would not tolerate being snubbed.  Jupiter Conjunct Neptune in the 10th would assure that and if you got in his way, watch out for Plutonian bullying and Aries pushing (Mars on the 10th and in the 12th) of his artwork.

Action is the foundational key to success. (Pablo Picasso)

Notably all his 10th house planets are retrograde.  This generally shows an inward reflection and as I’ve said above, I believe he used his art as a psychological outlet for what he could not express in a spoken way.  But with retrograded planets in a public house, he may have felt too exposed at times.

Saturn in the 10th shows he was serious about his art but that he would also be somewhat delayed in his achievement and with Saturn Conjunct Neptune,  I imagine he was always fighting feeling like a fraud.  He probably found it ludicrous that so much money came his way (for what he did — experiments and playful chicken-scratching as he might have seen a lot of his work) but with Jupiter Conjunct Pluto, he was destined to make that kind of money with this art. He also may have felt that for every step forward, he had to take two steps back (in some way) though his Mars Sextile Saturn would put up with it even if others took note of his impatience to move forward quickly.

As for his wealth, as I mentioned earlier that shows up with Jupiter Taurus Conjunct Pluto in the 10th! He tapped into and expanded old money and people with deep pockets — collectors and patrons!

It’s funny, I have no desire to explain what his individual paintings, sculptures, etc. mean as I don’t think they really mean anything.  Rather, they are fierce expressions of feeling, thought, and the times — nothing more and after pouring through his quotes (after writing up my impressions) Picasso seems to agree:

Those trying to explain pictures are as a rule completely mistaken. (Pablo Picasso) and What I want is that my picture should evoke nothing but emotion. (Pablo Picasso)

While I was at the exhibit, I wrote some notes (below) and did some artwork.

And I thank Pablo with helping me create a pair of sensual lips.

Good artists borrow. Great artists steal. (Pablo Picasso)

Interestingly enough, one of my sister’s thought I had drawn one of my other sister’s and she happens to be a Taurus.  And I’ve noticed that Taurus women have unmistakeable lips! Have you noticed this too? Another interesting thing is that Pablo has a stellium in Taurus.

Some notes I made while walking around the exhibit. I wrote these notes before seeing his quotes.  I won’t get into what I think they mean but they might strike a thought for you.

  • Playing cards
  • Salome 1905
  • One missing eye (destructive)
  • Different styles, ways of expressing, shading (Uranus aspects)
  • Experimental (Uranus aspects)
  • Fast & quick (Aries)
  • Studies
  • Unfinished feel
  • Landscape with figures blended into environment
  • The Thoth Tower tarot card (Cubism, same time period!)
  • Playing with dimensions and 3D
  • Grotesque sculptures
  • Overemphasized features
  • Body parts disassembled (destruction, dissociative)
  • Power
  • Narcissism
  • Vibrant colors
  • Pop art: Portrait of Dora Maar
  • Preoccupation with Bulls & Balls (Taurus) — masculinity
  • Dr. Who’s Cybermen (Massacre in Korea)
  • Difficulty dealing with the pain of women
  • Difficulty understanding women

As usual, I’m just scratching the surface.  It’d take hours and long discussion to flush out Pablo, the man and the artist!

I was quite glad to have had the opportunity to experience Picasso, up close and personal, but I’ll be forthright in saying that I was happy when it was over.  I felt like I had got injected with a large dose of testosterone, ego tripping, and self-flagellation!

Anyway, the exhibit was superb and well-put together — it flowed nicely!

And I hope it goes without saying that an aspect doesn’t mean just one thing.  I’ve just paired the impressions of the exhibit with what he had in his chart.  I knew little about the man or his art until after doing my reading and seeing his work. And there are many ways for an aspect to manifest.

Too light of a drawing of "Head of a Woman with Hair Bun: (quick sketch of two sides)

Astrology Matched with Pablo Picasso Quotes

If you take my sayings and explode them in the air, they remain only sayings. But if you fit them together in their correct places, you will have the whole story. (Pablo Picasso)

The same goes for astrology as well.  An aspect or signature is only part of the chart.  To know the whole story of a person or person’s, all those bits will need to be read together.  Intelligent man!

Below are some of those bits fitting with some of his bits.  Not the whole story but getting to it, nonetheless…

Sun Scorpio in the 4th: When you come right down to it, all you have is yourself. Yourself is a sun with a thousand fires in your belly. The rest is nothing. (Pablo Picasso) “For me, the picture is the sum of the destruction .  I make a painting, and then I destroy it.” (Pablo Picasso) Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. (Pablo Picasso) Painting isn’t an aesthetic operation; it’s a form of magic designed as a mediator between this strange, hostile world and us, a way of seizing the power by giving form to our terrors as well as our desires. (Pablo Picasso) No, painting is not made to decorate apartments, it’s an offensive and defensive weapon against the enemy. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Opposite Midheaven: People don’t realize what they have when they own a picture by me. Each picture is a phial with my blood. That is what has gone into it. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Opposite Saturn: I don’t know in advance what I am going to put on canvas any more than I decide beforehand what colours I am going to use. (Pablo Picasso)

Mercury Scorpio in the 4th, Mercury Opposite Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Midheaven, Chiron: Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. (Pablo Picasso) I don’t say everything, but I paint everything. (Pablo Picasso) Often while reading a book one feels that the author would have preferred to paint rather than write; one can sense the pleasure he derives from describing a landscape or a person, as if he were painting what he is saying, because deep in his heart he would have preferred to use brushes and colors. (Pablo Picasso)

Neptune in the 10th, Pisces in the 8th: The people who make art their business are mostly imposters. (Pablo Picasso)

Saturn Conjunct Neptune: Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies. If he only shows in his work that he has searched, and researched, for the way to put over lies, he would never accomplish anything. (Pablo Picasso) What the artist gains in the way of liberty he loses in the way of order. (Pablo Picasso) You have to start somewhere. You can always erase reality later on. (Pablo Picasso) Everything you can imagine is real. (Pablo Picasso) Academic training in beauty is a sham. We have been so deceived, but so well deceived that we can scarcely get back even a shadow of the truth. (Pablo Picasso) Art is a lie that helps us to realize the truth. (Pablo Picasso)  We now know that Art is not the truth… but rather a way of approaching the truth. (Pablo Picasso) We all know that art is not truth. Art is the lie that makes us realize truth – at least the truth that is given us to understand. (Pablo Picasso) The world today doesn’t make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do? (Pablo Picasso)

It’s interesting that Pablo has made a lot of statements that connect to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction he has in his natal chart. It’s in the 10th house and it’s obvious he has a strong connection between reality and fantasy which essentially this aspect means.

Sun Square Ascendant: I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Semi-square Uranus, Uranus in the 2nd Trine Jupiter, Neptune, and Saturn in the 10th!– By amusing myself with all these games, all this nonsense, all these picture puzzles, I became famous… I am only a public entertainer who has understood his time. – (Pablo Picasso)

Uranus Aspects: I have never made radically different experiments. Whenever I wanted to say something, I said it the way I believed I should. (Pablo Picasso) His Uranus aspects would suggest something different and I also noted his experimental nature in his art! Aha, he goes on to betray this quote:  I must keep on trying, just to keep the experiment going until I get tired of it all. Even if the last result is not necessarily the best, I stop when my interest in the problem wanes. (Pablo Picasso) –  What good are computers? They can only give you answers. (Pablo Picasso) I see for others… in order to put on canvas the sudden apparitions which come to me. (Pablo Picasso)

Uranus Leo in the 2nd: I’d like to live like a poor man with lots of money. (Pablo Picasso)

As an Artist, Pablo reminds me to..

Paintings are but research and experiment. I never do a painting as a work of art. All of them are researches. I search constantly and there is a logical sequence in all this research. (Pablo Picasso)

To blossom forth, a work of art must ignore or rather forget all the rules. (Pablo Picasso)

The painter goes through states of fullness and evaluation. That is the whole secret of art. (Pablo Picasso)

I do not seek. I find. (Pablo Picasso)

If you’re trying to find something, it means you haven’t got it. And if you find it simply by looking for it, that means it’s false. (Pablo Picasso)

I don’t know in advance what I am going to put on canvas any more than I decide beforehand what colours I am going to use. (Pablo Picasso)

Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. (Pablo Picasso)

Art is the elimination of the unnecessary. (Pablo Picasso)

If only we could pull out our brain and use only our eyes. (Pablo Picasso)

If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse, but you will surely see the wildness. (Pablo Picasso)

This is how it is for me too…

We have some similar aspects and we both have Neptune in the 10th.

You have to have an idea of what you are going to do, but it should be a vague idea. (Pablo Picasso)

I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else. (Pablo Picasso)

Unless your work gives you trouble, it is no good. (Pablo Picasso)

A picture is not thought out and settled beforehand. While it is being done it changes as one’s thoughts change. (Pablo Picasso)

One never knows what one is going to do. One starts a painting and then it becomes something quite else. It is remarkable how little the ‘willing’ of the artist intervenes. (Pablo Picasso)

I consider a work of art as a product of calculations, calculations that are frequently unknown to the author himself. (Pablo Picasso)

What I achieve the first day can be perfectly valid, but it is not satisfying. If I can go that far spontaneously, then I must shed that result as an old skin and inquire further into the unknown, or at least the not-yet-known-to-myself. (Pablo Picasso)

While I am working I am not conscious of what I am putting on the canvas. (Pablo Picasso)

The Sun & Moon and the 7th House in Synastry (Plus Me & David Bowie Celebrity Synastry Reading!)

(It’s another LONG one.  I think it’s VirgoVault time again! LOL)

Recently I wrote about the Ascendant and the 7th house, in synastry. I want to briefly mention the other two important players — the Sun and the Moon.

The Sun represents self, life force, what you create, how you lead yourself, your ego, your energy, your personality, the day time, the true you! — the 5th house.

The Moon represents the tribe, emotions, feelings, needs, instincts, memories, how you get comfortable, what makes you uncomfortable, sleep, food — the 4th house.

Wherever another person’s Sun deposits itself, it illuminates those house themes for you. So if you have Taurus on the 7th house cusp and you connect with a Taurus, they’ll be illuminating your house of partners and shining a light on your partnership interests. But they’ll also be illuminating your shadow and projected side so you may find that uncomfortable and distasteful to deal with.

But if you have the North Node in your 7th, meeting with your reflection may be exactly what you need to progress in life.  (Again, this article will not give you everything I can give you in a private consultation. I am scraping the surface with these posts).

Wherever another person’s Moon deposits itself, it provides memories of ‘home baked cookies’ and feelings. So if you have Taurus on the 7th house cusp and you connect with someone with a Taurus Moon, they’ll remind you of what makes you comfortable and content in a partnership.

I have Cancer on the DC.  I tend to be overly nurturing, family oriented, and will take care of my partner when they’re sick and not feeling well.  But guess what?! I want that too.  I want to be babied now and then. I love my partner being domestic and cooking, especially when I’ve been so fierce and active with my Leo Sun-Mars conjunction and busy at work with my Capricorn rising.  I need to rest now and then and the Cancer Moon (and Leo Moon too – see further down the post) does an especially good job of doing that for me. But again, because it’s the 7th house of projections I may think the Moon, deposited in my 7th house or vice versa, is too dependent and needy when in reality (if nothing else) I am too! Ha! The 7th house burn. LOL

Depending on whether you want a stimulating or restful relationship, you may be more attracted to the Sun or the Moon of your DC (7th house cusp).  Alternatively or equally, it may be the Sun or Moon that’s attracted to your 7th house cusp.

David Bowie (one of my favorite performers / artists) is  a Capricorn Sun, Leo Moon, and Aquarius rising with Leo on the DC  with Leo Moon-Pluto conjunction and Virgo sign inside.  I’m a Leo Sun, Virgo Moon, Capricorn rising with Cancer on the DC and Leo inside (Sun-Mars).  David’s Moon-Pluto Conjunction falls in my 7th house!! :-) And my Sun & Moon-Pluto conjunction falls in his 7th house (he’s got a HUGE 7th house).   I’m definitely attracted to his style when I’ve watched his interviews and videos as well as connected on a visceral level to the lyrics of the songs he’s wrote.  Too bad I’m not a huge celebrity star or I think we’d get on famously (with a few fights because he’d probably be so parental! — Rest of the chart folks!!) LOL

I’m generally not attracted (relationship-wise) to Cancer Sun’s (never dated one!) but I AM Very attracted to Cancer Moon’s.  Perhaps ‘attracted’ is not even a good word when it comes to  the Moon — I think I’d use that for the Sun.  With the Moon, I feel ‘at home’.  I feel ‘safe’.  I feel that my ‘needs’ are being met, and that person understands just what I need to feel comfortable. They can feel me out.

I looked over my synastry  of serious relationships and I noticed that…

I’ve also been very attracted to Leo (see David Bowie again) and Virgo Moon’s.  Leo is also in my 7th house and Virgo is almost in there too (plus I have a Virgo Moon as well). I’ve also been attracted to Libra and Scorpio Moon’s but often nothing extra-serious and or eternally bonding came of those relationships.  But I’ve never been in a serious relationship with a Cancer or a Leo Sun even!

I also found it exceedingly difficult to get over Leo and Cancer Moon exes.  It was like a piece of me went with them and melancholy memories persist but have greatly faded, thankfully. Whereas the Libra, and Virgo Moon’s became good long term friends (one of them 20+ years).  But I couldn’t remain friends with the Cancer and Leo Moons.  I think I understand why now!! Oh, how I Love astrology.

Questions to you, dear readers…

  1. What’s your Sun, Moon, Ascendant?
  2. What’s your 7th house cusp and what’s in your 7th house?  Does the house have another sign in it?
  3. Which Sun, Moon, and Ascendant sign attracts you the most?

As can be seen, the business of synastry (or finding your perfect match) is a complicated matter.  Because even if you knew who your perfect fit was, you’d a) have to be exposed to that person, b) be their perfect fit, and c) know what their birth chart was — needle in a haystack! LOL

But it’s not the end of the world… we  can cut ourselves some slack…

You may not find a  powerful ‘conjunction’ to your DC like Moon Conjunct DC but Moon Trine or Sextile DC would work as well.  So for myself, a Virgo or Taurus Moon, deposited into my 7th house, is a good fit as well. And if you’re into the Sun in the 7th energy (synastry-wise), you’ve got Sun Sextile or Trine DC to work with too!

And do remember that this is a part, and not the whole chart.  The whole chart MUST be read for accuracy and clarity. And in the case of synastry, also each individual’s natal chart — so at least three charts are being read (and that doesn’t even include the progressed charts, which are very important as time goes on in the relationship.).

So…

1. What’s your Sun, Moon, Ascendant?

2. What’s your 7th house cusp and what’s in your 7th house?  Does the house have another sign in it?

3. Which Sun, Moon, and Ascendant sign attracts you the most? Who have you dated?  Who couldn’t you get over very easily? Who couldn’t you wait to cut loose?

Celebrity Reading: Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter

Born
28 July 1866 (Leo Sun, Aquarius Moon)
Kensington, London, England

I watched Miss Potter last night and I figured there were some difficult Venus aspects that Beatrix had, given her first love died shortly after getting engaged at a late age in life and she seemed to have a disinterest in marriage.

Beatrix Potter has few Venus contacts.  Of what she does have, they are challenging and to add, her Venus is in Virgo: Venus Inconjunct Neptune. Venus Opposition Chiron. Venus Sesquiquadrate Jupiter.  And then she has an Aquarian Moon which make it hard for to get swept up into emotions yet when she falls in love, she’d fall deeply (Venus Trine Pluto).

Oddly, while watching the movie, I got a feeling something would happen to him (because her luck in love seemed minimal) and so it happened…

As for her writing?! She has Sun Trine Neptune (Magical self is enjoyed by many). Mercury Sextile Uranus (Innovative ideas that delight). Mercury Biquintile Jupiter (Expansive creative writing). Mars Trine Jupiter (Gains big opportunities).

Along with a splay chart, she has four T-squares, one of which make for a grand fixed cross (however, time of birth is unknown), and a small talent triangle with the apex being Mercury Virgo.

The movie portrayed her well: Independent, artistic, stoic, willful, masculine with some sex appeal (a challenge to get jiggy with her). With Leo Sun, Aquarius Moon, Sun Sextile Mars, Mercury Square Mars, and an action oriented T-square, and grand fixed cross that sounds about right!!

Though it seems she had a better relationship with her father than her natal Sun Square Pluto would suggest, if the Moon is correct (I don’t know her time of birth), she may well have Moon Square Pluto and the movie did portray great difficulty with her mother. Perhaps her father subtly manipulated her and his environment to make Beatrix believe it was the mother always being the naysayer?

Kellly Osbourne, Grey Hair, & Saturn Fever

‘To me, I’m 27, I’ve got three years left, the way I look at it, to have fun with it, because once you’re 30, you look like a right idiot walking around with like rainbow, bright color hair and all different things like that.’

You don’t have to know astrology, to be aware.  In tune human beings will connect with the energy of earth and the plans of the planets, naturally.

The World is My Oyster by Thomas Dybdahl (Celebrity Reading)

The sounds are wicked here! I would have loved to been at this gig.  Seems so magical with a perfect symbiotic connection between the band members and the listeners.

The world is my oyster
I can’t seem to swallow it

The world is my oyster
I can’t seem to swallow it

Cold and
Raw I
Stare it down
Even though the moment races past
Wild wild heady thoughts collide
With every thought I’ve tried to hide

Can’t seem to swallow it
The world is my oyster

Can’t seem to swallow it
The world is my oyster

Can’t seem to swallow it
The world is my oyster

Can’t seem to swallow it
The world is my oyster

I can’t seem to give a shit

As I rock back and forth to the sounds of this song (a comforting action, for sure), I think about the song’s meaning…

The lyrics in this song could reflect Thomas’ Sun Sesquiquadrate Saturn aspect.

The world is my oyster represents the Sun (Thomas), while the Can’t seem to swallow it, is something Saturn would say because Saturn is all about reality and the oyster phrase is an absurd play on words due to it being a metaphor. Saturn is also cold and Thomas is feeling cold / Raw I / Stare it down. This song appears as an introspective of Thomas’ state of mind at the time.

The sesquiquadrate is an aspect that needs a helping hand to connect the desires of the two planets. It sort of acts as a type of disability or a lack of help to overcome obstacles, and in this case — depression is reflected in these lyrics by suggesting he can’t seem to give shit (apathy that often occurs when in a depressed state).

People in his environment may have tried to get him to see the light, that there is so much success available to him and to not give up but he couldn’t buy it even though (in the song) he’s trying to convince himself that it is the truth (yes, please do!!). The lyrics Even though the moment races past / Wild wild heady thoughts collide / With every thought I’ve tried to hide are related to the planets Mars (Aries, his Sun sign), Uranus, and Mercury. In his chart, I see that Mercury powerfully Conjuncts Mars and Trines Uranus while Mars forms another Sesquiquadrate with Uranus.

This suggests his mind is fast, bright, but sometimes (again) he needs/needed help to take quick, assertive, and sudden action — to seize opportunities, to naysay tension, to speak up before he loses his thought or gets lost in past and future thoughts, and to act on his brilliant ideas (no self-doubt please!!). If he doesn’t, he’s likely to miss out or has missed out and then he’d get down about it or himself, feel guilty for not doing his all, etc.

As usual, I’m just scratching the surface on my blog and no reading is complete or accurate without the native’s input and agreement.

While this song is sung and played as a melodic ballad, and Thomas usually writes love songs, I think this song is about depression.  But it’s also a song about determination and success! Quite hopeful and uplifting, from the dark of the night — light will shine in the day.

Brilliant and inspired song-writer (Mercury Conjunct Venus in Pisces)!

So yes Thomas, the world IS your oyster! :D

Stevie Nicks: Pluto Leo in the 5th, Death of a Son – The Sun

Regarding the recent mini Stevie Nicks celebrity reading I did,  I learned in an article I read today, that marrying Kim (her best friend Robin’s widow) came with a boy.

I went crazy – absolutely crazy when Robin died. The only thing I could think of to do was try to take the load off Kim by marrying him and helping raise their son.

I think in her heart Robin knew I would go after Kim,” Stevie continues. “I had known her for 20 years and him for five, and I felt this baby belonged to me almost as much as it did to them.

After 3-8 months of being married, they had a divorce. With that, at the time of the article she had not seen Matthew again. I don’t know if she’s seem him since.

To me, this backs up my thought that if she did have a child it’d probably be a boy and he would die. Essentially that is what happened.

Having children, being married, and all the other Saturnian trappings of earth isn’t for everyone.  It’s especially difficult for women who have a drive that mimics the style of men (ie Sun Square Mars). With her Saturn Conjunct Pluto in the 5th, it seems to say quite literally “death of social activity and the restrictions that come with it”.  Social activity such as marriage, having children, etc.

Celebrity Astrology Reading: Stevie Nicks – Children & Marriage

This image was taken from AstroTheme. Please go there to get more detail on the chart, etc.

Stevie Nicks Natal Chart

From Wikipedia:

In a 1989 interview, Stevie gave personal insight as to the meaning of Rooms on Fire:

Rooms on Fire is about a girl who goes through a life like I have gone through, where she finally accepts the idea that there never will be those other things in her life. She will never be married, she will never have children, she will never do those [that] part of life.

We all have our own path, our own karma. Children, spouses, and the traditional trappings isn’t for everyone. I’m just thoroughly impressed that Stevie Nicks knew this or got an astrology consultation to make her aware of it — maybe she even gave herself an astrology consultation.

No children is indicated by Saturn and Pluto in her 5th house but it’s made more difficult by being conjunct. Leo is also one of the barren signs. You would think that wouldn’t be the case since Leo is playful and child-like but that’s exactly why Leo on the 5th house cusp can cause barrenness. That placement suggests the native is a child themselves and can not be responsible. And any child she would have had (probably a boy) would quite possibly have died.

In regards to lack of marriage, in her romance and dating house (the progression from dating to marriage) she more than likely had destructive romances that tested her will (Mars Conjunct Pluto). In her 8th house (House of Domination) she has South Node Conjunct Chiron (I use wide orbs). Marriage wounded her in a past life and continues to wound her. Neptune (which is square her Venus) is near this house cusp (the 6th house, House of Submission) and it’s here where she would attract men of addiction, fantasy, and illusion. In fact, she would likely have this as part of her nature as well — perhaps wanting to be Cinderella and finding her Prince but no mere mortal man could ever be a true fairytale Prince. With the house cusp having the sign in Libra, we have a house that is ruled by Venus and Juno. Any committed partnership could be met with mind games and mental abuse.

She did marry but it was for convenience and surrounding a long time chronic illness of her friend (she married her friend’s widow) – see South Node Conjunct Chiron in the 8th.  Perhaps it was a karmic debt repaid..

Thomas Dybdahl: Astrology Readings

Thomas Dybdahl is another artist whose work, tone, and voice resonates with me on deep levels and for good reason.

A special story about my meeting with Thomas. My friend Amy, in the UK, had been introducing me to Norwegian, and Dutch musicians and bands for a couple of years and one of these artists was Thomas Dybdahl.  I played the video Amy suggested and searched out another but then didn’t bother much more with it.

Then a year or so later, as I was building my Google+ Music page, I was pouring over some loved music from my past and Thomas’ music popped up.  This time I ended up listening to more of his music.

Around that time, I found his Facebook page and saw that he had a live show on Livestream that I was able to watch where he answered viewer’s questions (mine included).

Shortly after that, there was a contest to win two tickets to his show supporting Tori Amos at Massey Hall.  I won, with the support of Amy rooting for me!!

Since then, I have not tired of his music so he’s become a favorite but David Bowie is still #1. Oddly, they’re both cardinal signs (David, a Capricorn. Thomas, an Aries).

I probably won’t spend as much time reading Thomas (especially since his time of birth is unknown) but I’ll scratch the surface a bit in a few posts, mainly focusing on his art and what drives it.

David Bowie: Astrology Reading

The best way for me to read Bowie, is probably over time since he’s so darn complex. And Astrogasm is a great space to do it in since the focus is ‘short’ to ‘very short’ posts.

I fell in love with the artistry of David Bowie in the early 1980’s while stylizing my hair with chocolate mouse and listening to the radio. China Girl came on and I had a musigasm in which I proceeded to dance around the room in delight. It wasn’t until decades later, when doing a past life regression, that I found I was a defected Chinese solider in the Han dynasty. I have also naturally appreciated Asian wisdom, art, and aesthetics. I also understand that the title could refer to drugs; heroine.

Anyway, it wasn’t until recently that I found out that a) David and I have an alarmingly number of the same, similar, or interesting natal signatures, b) that our synastry is quite fascinating, and that c) he was very much into the occult, at one point. That’s when I realized we like the work of certain celebrities for a reason! It’s really a mirror reflection of our own great star.

While we are very different as much as we are very much the same, I’ll probably read him in relation to what I know about myself and how he has manifested the same or similar aspect.  In that way, there can be a pure read and deep connection to David Bowie, the Chameleon.

Whitney Houston: Love Aspects – Women Who Love Too Much

Whitney Houston definitely had a whole lot of love to give. Her Venus communicated with eight planets and her Midheaven. Unfortunately, a few of those contacts conversed in a difficult and traumatic way.

Venus Opposite Saturn – Serious love separates. She couldn’t get close enough to the ones she loved. There was always a distance and a hard lesson to learn. The men she loved were not available. Getting involved with married men, or men who were too old, much older (at least 7 years), or hard for her. More about this aspect type.

Venus Square Neptune
– False spiritual love. Loving men who are emotionally unavailable, wrong for her — men she saw potential in but who could not live up to her imagination. Love after or before its time — star crossed lovers. Unrequited love. Past lives karmic soulmate. More about this aspect.

Venus Semi-sextile Pluto – Powerful love. Jealous love. Possessive love. She held on to the ones she loved even if they were no good for her. She also attracted men who wanted to possess her. She was energized by this sado-masochistic love, at times and found opportunity to engage in it.

Article linking her to Jermaine Jackson.

Whitney’s 1985 single Saving All My Love For You, which tells the story of a woman’s romance with a married man, with the singer even hiring a lookalike of Jermaine for the footage. [A] source added: ‘The reason it ended was because Jermaine wouldn’t leave his wife – and Whitney was angry. The video for Saving All My Love For You was about all of that.’

After reading this article, I realized Whitney probably had challenging love aspects and so she did.

In 1985 (during Whitney’s heyday, and the year Whitney’s song was published) Robin Norwood published a book: Women Who Love Too Much — while this reflected the emerging nature of women’s issues within relationships during a boom in women’s liberation and career opportunities of the 1980’s, it was a perfect book describing Whitney Houston’s love entanglements.

In fact, here’s some chapters (of the Norwood book) that connect with her aspects:

“If I suffer for you, will you love me” – Venus Opposition or Square Saturn
“The need to be needed” – Venus Square Neptune, and Moon-Venus (Whitney has this too).
“Beauty and the beast” – Venus-Pluto
“When one addiction feeds another” – Venus-Neptune
“Dying for love” Venus-Pluto
“Good sex in bad relationships” Partly Venus-Pluto. Mars would be involved here too.
“Loving the man who doesn’t love you back” Venus Square or Opposition Saturn

Astronomy, Sky-watching, and Loving the Cosmos…

I’m getting more into Astronomy. I’m not sure what planets or fixed stars I was looking at tonight but along with the Moon, I felt a sense of calm as they washed over me. Breath-taking, calming, powerful… Check out Earth Sky sky gazing for information.

Now let me play you a song from one of my favourite artists, a Darwin lover who admirably named one of his albums Science! I’m a skeptic too and into science but not to the exclusion of spirit. Yet, I get why Thomas needed science to help stabilize what was going on in his world at the time. I’m also not for scam artists. I don’t sell or tell what I can’t prove with my own research and experiences. If I do, I call it theory.

And I tell you Thomas, when I look up at the sky I feel anything but real — it’s magic, magical.
