The world’s people are opening up to LIFE.

Yesterday I had a series of posts (from different friends) with outstretched open arms. Literally it came up on my timeline one after the other (should have done a screenshot – ah, whatever. LOL). A sign for this Neptune Scorpio in the 10th, if I ever saw one. :-)

A Lecture is devoid of a conversation

A lecture is something that is devoid of a conversation.

What’s a conversation?  It’s when more than one person is exchanging ideas, thoughts, feelings, and/or impressions.

If you don’t want to be lectured at, speak up — ask questions, and make comments.  Don’t let the other person control what goes on unless you are enjoying the lecture.

If the person you are talking to doesn’t allow you to speak, speak to someone in the ‘help industry’ such as a crisis center, therapist, counselor, etc. so you can gain the tools and resources to assert yourself.

You never have to hear a lecture again unless you’ve agreed to such an arrangement!

Do You Have The GIFT?!

A student said I had the ‘gift’ because they were not getting something I was getting and because they believe in my talent. *eye roll*

Sorry student if you’re reading this – you know I <3 you but aside from the kudos (thanks!) it’s important to be honest with yourself and not externalize what you consider, failure for knowing.

My reply was:  I have the “gift”, if it’s the ‘gift of analysis. :-P

Seriously, yes… that’s what I’m gifted in:  Putting seemingly unrelated items together; pulling stuff apart and putting it back together again, only to pull it apart again; seeing patterns; and making wild connections. :D

So yes, I’m naturally ‘gifted’ at that with my Mercury Conjunct South Node but not Conjunct Pluto in the 8th and in the sign of Virgo, along with my Virgo stellium!!

But anyone can learn anything they want to learn with time, practice, desire, and an open mind.

I also reminded the student that she’s incredibly bright, studious, and able to analyze quite well but from what I understand — she wants an ‘external’ reward for doing so.  That’s maybe a differentiator between myself and many others.

My reward is finding a solution — MY solution.  It doesn’t have to be anyone else’s, no one has to agree, or clap their hands in praise of my almighty mind… LOL though that’s always appreciated says my Leo Sun-Mars in the 7th. ;P

Now, this may be a news flash to some of you but EVERYONE has a gift.  Yup, you too.  Yup, you’re gifted in some way too.

What are you gifted in?  What do you find you seem to do naturally well but is often harder for other people to do?  Did you suppress or stunt your gift, only to find it blooming later in life?  What, astrologically, do you think represents your ‘gift‘?

And if you don’t think you’re gifted in something, I feel it’s important to check your self-esteem.  And frankly, I’d encourage you to get some talk therapy about that too.  Lack of confidence and low self esteem are a couple of things that will hold you and others back in life if you don’t deal with it.

If you’re not sure how your gift shows up astrologically, that’s entirely different and probably has nothing to do with low self-esteem.

(Note: Self-esteem issues are connected to the 2nd house so it’s a good starting point to explore that; however, other houses and signatures also point to this.)

Meditation & Learning Meditation: Deepak Chopra’s Leela™ (Wii & 360)

Deepak Chopra’s Leela™ is a MEDITATION game. Yup, you heard that right. And by the way, it works.

I just got this in tonight and it’s perfect for the first day of Venus RX especially since I wrote about expanding my meditation practice.

And I’ll be working out how to beautify and balance my thinking and speaking with a daily meditation and self-love practice as well as re-formulating communication tasks and the environment I do them in – April 6th, 2012 blog post

I tell you, I really AM on auto-pilot (driven by the universe) a lot of the times.  LOL

I ordered this for my Wii about a week ago and when I wrote the above, I was thinking of the meditation programs I already have like:  Walking Meditation, 8 Minute Meditation, and Mindfulness Meditation!  I really didn’t think I’d be getting Leela in but I’m so happy I did.

Leela, in Sanskrit, means PLAY.  And my Venus Rx is currently in the 5th house and I’m ready to re-energize, review, and rethink my playtime.

I believe I’ll be looking at bringing more art, money, cerebral play, and romance into my life.

And the ‘active’ part of Leela IS a sort of mindless cerebral play that is a feast for the eyes — perfect for Venus Gemini. By the way Deepak is a Libra/Scorpio cusp.  Hrmm. Cool.

There’s two parts. One part is active and one part is reflective. The active part gets you doing mind numbing and peaceful actions that give a sense of growing something. The reflective part gets you to rest and do nothing, go within.

As I play with it more, I’ll update this blog post.

You can get Leela on Amazon.

You’re #1: Who Comes First When Communicating?

I had initiated a conversation about something I didn’t like being said to me and then the other person started talking about what they didn’t like about something I said to them a long time ago (but had never told me), skipping right over what I wanted to talk to them about.

I said to them:  Hey, I’m #1 here.  You’re coming in as a #2 but you’re a #1 too.  If you have something to bring up, initiate a conversation about that topic (at that time) and be the #1 that you are.  Otherwise, when you come in as a #2, you make me a #2 and I’m a #1 who doesn’t like going around and around in circles.  And at the very least, address and acknowledge what I’m talking about, come to a resolution with me and then we can talk about your stuff.

If you have something to say, say it first.  Don’t wait for the other person to open the door and follow in behind them.  That’s not fair, empowering, or helpful.

Remember that you’re #1 and so are they.

Words of Wisdom: Ten Things You Need To Know About Your Life

In my mind, the main purpose of all our human lives is the love of wisdom and the wisdom to love.

If you do that, you are probably leading a happier life.

1. Take care of your body.  There are so many wonderful and different bodies out there but the only perfect body is yours.  If you’ve made it imperfect by believing it was imperfect, it may be time to bring it back to it’s perfectly natural state as you possibly can and then honour it this time. Virgo, Vesta — the 6th house asks us to have daily practices that bring health and wellness into your life. Search these practices out, if you don’t already have them.

2. Everything that happens to and around you are lessons for you to learn from.  In many ways we are all children, no matter our age.

3. Enjoy the happy accidents.  Perfection is in imperfection.  Failed plans are opportunities for something great to happen.  Embrace what you didn’t expect.  Expect the unexpected. Let Uranus guide you in discovering what life has to offer, in all its irregular shapes and sizes.

4. Patterns. If you find yourself making the same mistake over-and-over again, you likely have an aversion to learning or graduating from a course of learning. Life can be tough and maybe you want things easy so you figure it’s better to sit in a pile of mess you’re comfortable with then get out of it and start some other pile of mess.  You’re wrong.  After you pass that one lesson, it’ll make the next easier to handle and you’ll gain confidence and joy. If you have Saturn in your 3rd or 9th houses: Blocking the road to wellness, out of fear of having to take responsibility for the life you lead, may be one cause for repetition and failure to learn.  But it’s not the only signature because I don’t have Saturn in those houses and I have failed to learn many things and have had to go through it all over again.  What I’ve been learning to do, is to slow down. I think one personal signature that has casued me to repeat lessons not learned is Mars Square Saturn.

5. The work is never done so learn to enjoy whatever you are doing, in the moment.  Flow. Flow from one lesson into another.  A never ending sea of Neptunian delights. Let everything inspire you (The Sun) towards a magical life.

6. Wherever you are, is where you’re supposed to be.  Be in the moment.  Learn every lesson.  Even if you don’t like where you are, it’s only temporary.  It’s always only temporary.  Remind yourself of that. You’re never where you want to or will be, so enjoy being where you are.

7. Projection.  We all have a 7th house.  We all project.  If you have something nasty or nice to say about someone else, that’s because it’s within you or was within you.  You can’t know what you don’t own (by the way, know contains the word own, k is silent).  And what you love or hate about someone else is what you love or hate about yourself.  So the next time you find yourself admiring someone else (like me, Oh so Leo. ;p) remember to admire that about yourself!! Yes, it might not be as ‘out there’ but you have it.

Update: The psychological term for #7 is called, projection or displacement — I really wish a lot more people would get this… then again, it’s kind of cool to learn about how people view themselves (through others). Listen to what people have to say, good or bad about others and they are telling you about themselves. If they’re quiet or don’t ever say anything about other people, be afraid — be very afraid. And even though I know of this phenomena, I STILL will make note of the good and bad that I see, myself. Having said that, if you’ve been taught to recognize something in others (say you’re law enforcement, psychologist, or you’ve read some articles about something you knew nothing before about etc…), then it may not be a projection.

The important thing is not to stop noticing good and bad in others, but to notice that that good and bad exists within you too. That’s when the magic of compassion, understanding, and self-development ignites.

8. As an adult, you have everything you need — all the resources you could ever want is currently at your feet, a phone call, chat, or walk away.  You’ve been provided with everything you need, in this moment — remember it.  It may not be in the package you readily seek but you have it. It’s there to be taken and if you don’t know how to take it, wellness providers (like myself) can help you tap into these resources.

9. As a psychic I can’t remember how many times I’ve said this.  And this is another reason why I created TarotSeek.  The best answers lie within.  You know everything.  Yup, there’s nothing you don’t know.  You may not be able to always put words to it and it might be buried deep, but you know everything. As a tarot reader, I connect with you to access the answers you and others hold.  I’m not godly, I’m just connected and present.

So I ultimately don’t believe in regular tarot readings.  I believe in my style of tarot reading (when you don’t read the cards all by yourself) which is about accessing YOUR wisdom and that’s why I’m YOUR Wisdom Guide!

10. When I teach people tarot, I always tell them that no matter what they say — they’ll always be right.  Tarot is story telling, telling true stories.  But if they think they are not allowed to read, they won’t succeed.  However, one of the things I do give freely to others is confidence (Sun in the 7th) so when you work with me. you’ll very likely achieve things you never thought you could. Just try to remember that I helped you along your way and let other people know too so they can benefit from my gifts as well.

Why clumsiness occurs: A Psychic & Astrological Perspective

One of my clients asked why clumsiness occurs.

My response was that clumsiness, from a psychic perspective, is a result of unexpressed negative impressions.

These negative thoughts are usually about other people or situations that one *feels* should have been, could have been — avoided.

Also, it’s likely these thoughts were about not wanting to take responsibility for one’s actions (blaming someone else) OR not expressing honest feelings. And because these negative feelings and thoughts are not expressed well enough or verbally, it turns into an accident. Clumsiness or accidents become an outward manifestation communicating inner turmoil.

As humans, we have a knack for expressing things no matter what, and these expressions are released in any which way that they can and often for maximum impact.

(Originally published Jun 7, 2009 @ 22:08  with additional modifications, as is below… I think my Mercury Conjunct South Node in the 8th, analytical psychologists hat was on when I came up with this! *grin*)

From an astrology perspective… an afflicted Mars, Aries, or Mars in Aries retrograde along with Uranus, can also cause clumsiness or “accidents” as it’s related to speed, aggression, along with a surprising suddenness via obstacles and imbalance.

Conversation: How to Verify Your Thoughts as Fact – The Three Step Process

If you’re mulling over something inside your head but you never share that externally (especially directly to any person/s you’re thinking about), you’ve got a third of the story and you’re just having a conversation with yourself.

That conversation is often full of faulty assumptions, judgements, and hypothesis.  That’s fine.

This is Step one and it means you’re thinking.

What’s not fine is when you believe what you think is true without verifying your thoughts as fact. This also can create a lot of bad vibes between yourself and others.  It can also create a lot of untrue good vibes — just as dangerous, if you ask me.

Step two is asking questions and sharing your impressions with those you’re thinking about, so that you can have a proper conversation outside of your own head.

Step three is the back and forth conversation where you find a common ground of understanding, respect, and delight. This is the step that challenges your beliefs and opens you up to new insight, thought, and information.

The bad habit of stopping at step 1, often shows up in astrology as a luminary or planet square Neptune such as Mercury Square Neptune, and Moon or Mars Square Neptune in natal or synastry.

This bad habit is also encouraged by society because many people don’t want you to be clear on what they’re thinking, doing, feeling, or believing.  So many children start off asking a lot of questions and then stop asking them after being blocked or hurt too many times. So we have a whole lot of adults running around ASSuming things without verifying their assumption as fact.

With Sun Conjunct Mars I’m luckily (or not) one of those children who never stop asking questions, even when faced with opposition. But I’m not perfect.  I sometimes don’t verify my assumptions either but I have enough humility to apologize and make amends for it when that’s brought to my attention, and I kick myself for it too because I know better.  Also sometimes, I have low confidence days and I just don’t have the strength to push for clarity.

Speaking of which — Yes, there IS an art to asking questions.  If you ask in a way that is disrespectful and doesn’t keep in mind the personal boundaries of someone else, you may come off as an obtrusive interrogator or investigator (Pluto), rather than an unobtrusive discoverer or adventurer (Jupiter).

So consider your motives and relationship with whomever you’re thinking about and asking questions.  And if you’re thinking about the actions and behaviours of someone who is not in your circle, you may want to bring them into your circle to have a genuine conversation — that’s if they matter enough to you.

And come to think of it, that might be another reason why people don’t ask enough questions — they just don’t give two hoots about you and care more about THEIR opinion of you and your actions, thoughts, feelings rather than what’s going on on your side!!

O-0 … that’s another post! haha

Maybe some people don’t think you’ll tell your truth if they ask you a question but that’s not really been my experience.  Anyway, even if they have a tendency to lie to themselves (that’s what I have experienced) there’s step three — I don’t have to believe what they tell me but if they are good and decent people, I respect what they have to say and take it into consideration.

Considering Becoming a Professional Anything? And Wondering: How Much Should You Charge?! Watch This!

If you want to stay in business for a long time, love what you do, and be respected as a professional — charge fair, affordable fees.  However, ensure these fees are professional and based on all the expenses incurred in doing business, as well as your experience, ability, and unique offering.

If you find you can’t or are unable to charge professional fees, you may want to consider getting into another line of work because it will cost you and your colleagues a lot if you don’t think about your entrance or continued presence as a paid professional within your industry.

As a full time astrologer, psychic, and tarot reader — I fully support what Mark is teaching here. I couldn’t have said it better. And unfortunately in the creative and holistic fields, many professionals do not consider the cost of doing business and can not make a full time living, doing what they love, because they are selling themselves short.

I have a different perspective in offering my services because I took business, as a major, in school.  I took business because I loved marketing, promoting, and selling what I believed in and my father ran his own business but also because I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up — the work I do today and will do tomorrow, was totally NOT on my radar. I was a hard core conservative back then, believe it or not. My how things change!

So I didn’t actually learn a particular skill in school, other than what’s involved in running and managing a business, and for the longest time that bothered me but now I can see how it’s been of benefit.

So if you didn’t get business training, yet you want to offer your services for money — do consider learning all you can about running a business, and take to heart videos like this.

Much love <3

Your Best Ego & Subconscious Cop-out Ever

Gasp, it’s almost 12am and I haven’t written a post for the day — no can do… Here’s one I wrote back on May 4, 2009 @ 11:46am and it’s 11:43 pm right now!

Do you do YOUR best or do you do THE best?

Listen to yourself and others when they talk about doing something well. Most of the time you will hear them say they will do THEIR best. However, is their best the best that can be done? I think not. I think that the “I will do my best”, is a subconscious cop-out. It’s along the lines of “I’ll try….”. It allows one to make an excuse in case something one does isn’t good enough for others. It makes one feel good.

Doing your best can be not very good at all and if you are not in a good state of success, then you may not even do as well as what you normally can do. Doing the best is pushing your ego aside (backwards theory), jumping out of your energy field and giving it your all — your best way to accomplish something. In effect, it has nothing to do with you and therefore it can truly be the best.

So push your ego to the back of the line, take responsibility for outcomes, go outside of yourself, and do some hard work. I say, “Hop to it!”.

Self-Development: Do You Experience Enough Pain To Change?

Do you experience enough pain to change?
As much as you want to change and say you will change, do you experience enough pain to change?

Pain is the catalyst to doing something. Human beings do not enjoy pain that they haven’t intentionally inflicted upon themselves for pleasure. We, as human beings, want to get as far away as possible from pain and will do almost anything to make that happen.

So if change is not happening in your life, ask yourself: Am I hurting enough? Do I have enough pain to want to remove myself from whatever it is that is causing the pain?

Some humans have a high tolerance to pain. I’m not certain why that is but it is. And because of that, they are willing to place themselves and stay in situations that cause them negative pain.

Work: How to Enjoy It More & Have Success

When you do a job or a task have these three principles to work by:

1. Enjoy it for yourself

If you are bored, how can you make it more fun? Can it be played like a game? What parts do you like about it? Can you do more of that? Listen to the music; find the music within the work, the flow. Talk or write about the work, in a productive way, to people. Take initiative; own your job.

2. Excel at it and be the best

Can you make your job more efficient and productive? Is there something that you can do to your job to make it better than anyone thought it ever could? Can you run a seminar, write a column, become an expert? Excelling at your job means you can move on to more enjoyable activities of your own choosing.

3. Better it for others

Tweak and document processes and procedures so you can have someone take over your job (with ease) once you have reached excellence. This is very helpful for when you want to move on to bigger and better things quickly — onwards and upwards.

Please note: Do NOT use these principles if you want to perform in a mediocre way or do a job just for the money because by following these principles you will be excellent and acquire passion for everything you do.

Life Skills: Trying Different Things Out

I think I try a lot of different things because a) I have Gemini on the 5th and 6th house cusps, b) I like to try my hand at a lot of different things just because it’s fun, and c) It’s a great way to figure out if I have any talent in anything or if something works well. haha…

So don’t be shy. Take a page from me. Make lots of mistakes, maybe even a fool of yourself.

Even if you don’t think you’re good at something, try it anyway and share it. See if people like it. If they don’t, maybe don’t spend as much time on it ;-P or if you love it badly, spend even MORE time developing it.

Dream Manifestation: Write It Down & It Will Happen

There’s not a lot of ‘popular thought or sayings’ that fit my karma but this one works for me…

I was going through my papers last night and again, I noticed a pattern.  Any dream I wrote down,  I have achieved or I am well on my way to fully achieving.  Even if it’s years later, I saw that I made it happen.  But I noticed there was nothing left to achieve and the stuff that had a luke-warm achievement was due to not being specific enough.

For example, one thing I wanted in my life was regular exercise and while I have achieved that, I haven’t been consistent.  So last night, I wrote that I want to have at least a half hour of ‘moderate to heavy breathing’ exercise in the morning and a half hour at night, everyday.  If I do more, great! Which reminds, I want to add a Pilates and Yoga practice to that regime, whether it be meditative, physical, or otherwise — okay 15-20 minutes a day for that one (for now).  Must write that down too (though it’s written here as well).

Our fingers have meridians flowing through them.  That’s why you see in fantasy stories the use of wands and such and the emission of a powerful light or energy. Let your fingers manifest your dreams.  If you do not have them, let your toes do it.  No toes either? There are meridians flowing through your whole body; use whatever you have to manifest your dreams through your body.

How to View & Fix a Problem

A problem is not an opportunity for an excuse. Take action; Find solution.

Be a Solution Generator unless it serves to be a Problem Finder.

1. Identify / acknowledge problem. 2. View problem outside of yourself. 3. Take a look at it. Ask other people to take a look at it.

Cup your hands, put your problem inside of it. Now the problem isn’t a part of you. It’s something to look at, external. And if you are not sure exactly what it is, then motion your cupped hands (filled with the problem) to someone else to look at.  Ask them if they can help you with your problem. Make solutions internal and problems external.
